Company: Paul M. Friedman, M.D.

Client: Paul Friedman, a client of Page1Solutions

Concept: Update Website to help promote the doctor and his book.

Description: First Major Round: Client wanted his "Calls to Actions" (graphical buttons) to be smaller. I had to shrink down the graphics and work through styling issues. The side navigation needed to be updated so it would contain all the new pages that he added. There was a lot of re-arranging pictures and elements around the website. Requested by the client was to remove the 4 buttons under the banner. This site has to be consistently updated for his featured magazines.

Second Major Round: Client felt that his banner did not promote him and requested to have the photo replaced with his photo. Also, the client had changed the name of his practice. He wanted DermSurgery Laser Center to become least important in the banner and make his name the title of the practice. During this time the client wrote "Beautiful Skin Revealed" book. The client wanted to promote his book up in the banner which would also provide links to Barnes and Noble. Just by changing the banner, the content is more visible and near the top

Third Major Round: The client is doing a campaign for his book and feels he needs to find a way to promote his book a little more. I provided a special landing page where people can preview the book. This books was created by using Flash. The book is very interactive and has a look and feel like you are really turning the pages. When the cursor is moved near the corner edges of the book, it curls. There are shadows that provide depth and dimensionality. Also, the pages are flexible like a real book, you can fold them and move them around. For those who just want a simple way to view the book, I have arrows and a "jump section" that can move you through the pages.

Company: The Bougainvillea Clinique

Client: Dr. Hartog, a client of Page1Solutions

Concept: Site was left unfinished and needed major work and updates

Description: The First Major Round: I had inherited the site from a designer who didn't finish the build out process and did not provide quality testing. The client was angry because it was already past the deadline that was quoted to them and when they reviewed the site, there were so many problems. There were a lot of cross-browser issues and lack of standard validation. This site had over 3200 broken links, broken images and the image gallery was not what the client requested. There were javascripting conflicts, which I ended up converting all javascript code to jQuery. After fixing all the links, spell checking every page, validating the pages, I also added drop downs to the top navigation and made sure the forms worked and had a validation feature to protect from spam. I used a third part software to code and place the images to the gallery (which is in php). I went through the entire site and fixed all the videos as they were not playing properly and saved in the correct version. In the news dropdown, I added a video library. This uses the JW Player and displays all the videos on the site in one video with a scrolling feature.

The Second Major Round: Due to the change in screen resolutions, the client requested his site to be widen for 1024px. I had widen the navigation and content area to improve readability for the content and balance. The static background photo was also edited because of the "photos by" text was lost behind the width of the site. The client wanted me to separate the blogs to be in their own particular topic, such as, the Bougainvillea Blog, Patient Blog, and Pilates Blog.

Company: Coleman Center For Cosmetic Dentistry

Client: Paul Coleman, a client of Page1Solutions

Concept: Update website to be more appealing to the client

Description: Client requested to revamp the details of the site. Dr. Coleman hated the colors and the ornamented details. He felt the site was too feminine, kind of circusy, flat, and out of date with the photos. He stated that he would like a more clean and simple site that felt modern, classic, and elegant. The client wanted to use his branded logo colors for the site (blacks, grays and golds) and make the site feel more balance between masculine and feminine. He like some of the script font but requested to have the important information to be in a font that was easier to read. I changed the font on the phone number and on the mini form. I also re-arrange the site to create a visual balance between the left and right column. I ended up re-coding a good portion of this site due to the lack of flexibility in the code when it was first built. The navigation now has dropdowns using jQuery. One important factor in this site was to increase the ability to find what the client felt important. I provided "Calls to Actions" graphics to help guide users to those pages.

Company: Katzen Eye Group

Client: Dr. Katzen, a client of Page1Solutions

Concept: Updating site for increase functionality

Description: Client wanted to increase search feature to site. One challenge to face on this site was the limited amount of usable space. I added a Google Mini near the top right hand side of banner. Another challenge with the website is the lack of a template, pages have different layouts and that it is coded in tables. I created a "Library Item" for the search feature. While working on this site, I also took time to fix a few styling issues that was breaking the site and displaying improperly in IE 6. The major issue on this site that I updated was the stacking order of how things preview. Before, the navigation was showing up behind everything (banner, mini form, etc.). With just a few tweaks, the site has now a functional navigation.
